Rust en Vrede Estate 2002 receives 4 Star rating from SA's Wine Magazine – December 2005
South African WINE magazine awarded the 2002 Rust en Vrede Estate 4 stars in its December 2005 edition.” One of
South Africa
’s “staatmaker” (stalwart) wines. You can always depend on this Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Merlot blend and I’m a huge fan because it just gets better and better; drinking beautiful after 5 or 10 years. This has a lot of fruit – quite plummy and spicy now – but it develops tertiary flavours and wonderful elegance and finesse over time. Pure class.” WINE magazine’s editor Fiona McDonald.
“The annual tasting of wines in the non – Bordeaux category resulted in five 4 star wines and one 4 ½ star out of 121 wines tasted (4,9% of all wines) – and these displayed a definite
Shiraz
bias, with just one containing any Pinotage.”
ESTATE 2002
