The planning for the long overdue renovation of our existing cellar facilities started at the beginning of 2005 and building work commenced in June 2005. We are expanding the fermentation cellar as well as the malolactic fermentation area. Once the building of the new barrel cellar is complete, it will be able to house some 990 300 litre barrels.
The newly built bin store as well as bottle storage area will allow us to store all Rust en Vrede wines on our premises where previously we relied on warehousing our wines elsewhere.
We have invested in a new de-stalking work station as well as 20 new fermentation tanks that will be housed in the newly built fermentation cellar.
Our entire cooling system, both for the fermentation cellar as well as the barrel maturation cellar was revamped to ensure constant temperature levels throughout the production process and beyond.
Finally, we are building new and improved facilities for our staff and are in the process of planning to upgrade our tasting room facilities which should commence in February next year be completed by the end of March.
We invite all our customers to visit our new facilites from April 2006! |
